Sea of Thieves is slated for launch on 20 March 2018, but the game is back for another round of stress testing. Rare also announced a proper beta before launch so if you're looking for some fun gaming, you may want to skip this test.

The new Sea of Thieves test has begun this morning at 10am GMT/ 2am PST and will end on Sunday 10AM GMT / 2am PST. If you're just looking to have some fun with the game, you may want to think twice though.

Namely, Rare is planning to go all out with stress testing, probably to the point that may discourage those weak of heart. Rare said they'll be "throttling performance at certain times, testing the game in different data centres around the world, and simulating deliberate outages."

This means Sea of Thieves players should get ready to experience interrupted sessions, login problems as well as issues with in-game shops. You know, the kind that usually come with poor connection and aren't the least bit enjoyable.

Rare also said they're planning on having a proper beta closer to the launch of Sea of Thieves, where players will be able to experience the game in all its splendour.

Once again, the game will be limited to Gold Hoarders faction and related quests. Basically, it's the limited edition that was featured in the closed beta, with additional bells and whistles reserved for the proper beta.

Speaking of closed beta, Sea of Thieves will be accessible to all members of Rare's Insider Programme, i.e. closed beta players, all 220 thousand of them. Rare's swashbuckling adventure Sea of Thieves is a Microsoft exclusive title, so expect it to hit Windows 10 and Xbox One on 20 March 2018.
