After leaving Sledgehammer Games, Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield have left Aaron Halon in charge of the studio. Mr Halon recently posted a letter on the studio's webpage. He said that he is 'committed to staying focused' on the fans.
Sledgehammer Games' founders Michael Condrey and Glen Schofield, have decided to leave the studio and take on "new executive duties" in their parent company, Activision. They will transition into different roles within Activision, and have left Aaron Halon in charge of Sledgehammer.
Aaron Halon has years of experience with Sledgehammer Games and has recently stepped up to take over the role of the head of the studio. While the founders' departure is still fresh in everyone's memory, the new studio head decided to pen a letter to the fans of the best selling video game of 2017.
The letter starts with a "thank you" from everyone at Sledgehammer Games. Mr Halon goes on to say that he is "humbled by the opportunity to lead this amazing team of developers". Aaron noted that he has "worn many hats" while with Sledgehammer, and that it allowed him "to work side by side with some of the best talent in the business".
Aaron said that he is committed to staying focused of the game's fans as they continue to support Call of Duty WWII. Halon also thanked Glen and Michael for their support, and their mentorship.
At this time, Sledgehammer is working on developing DLC for Call of Duty: WWII, but they will likely soon start their work on a new Call of Duty game we'll probably get in early 2020.
Since they've opened their door in 2009 the studio has contributed to the development process of Call of Duty games. Sledgehammer collaborated with Infinity Ward on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and was the lead developer credited for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in 2014.
Call of Duty: WWII was the studio's largest project yet, and Activision has said that the game has sold twice as many copies as Infinite Warfare. Call of Duty: WWII is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game's first DLC pack titled The Resistance is set to launch for PC and Xbox One players on 01 March 2018.
