Vanquish, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Brave are now compatible with Xbox One. Vanquish is a shooter from 2010, directed by Shinji Mikami. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a spin-off, and Brave is based on a Disney movie.

Platinum Games' cover shooter, Vanquish, is the latest game to receive backward compatibility support on Xbox One, announced Microsoft. Vanquish will join Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Brave.

The shooter came out in 2010, and is one year younger than its big sister, Bayonetta. Vanquish was directed by Shinji Mikami, the man who worked on a couple of Resident Evil games. The game has a characteristic approach to the tried and true third-person cover shooter formula. We have a review awaiting your gaze, should you want to know more.

Vanquish boasts a muted colour palette and a lot of knee sliding between different covers. The knee sliding, coupled with mech combat provides the players with an experience not unlike the one they had while playing Bayonetta.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is a co-op Tomb Raider spin-off. It's an older twin stick platformer in which you make your way through ancient ruins and pick off all kinds of creatures who live there. With a friend. The game has moments when it turns into an isometric dungeon crawler, and there's puzzle solving.

The third game to get a backwards compatibility treatment is Brave. Based on the Disney movie of the same name, the game is a family friendly affair that follows young Merida on her quest to change her mother back into a human.

If you already own the Xbox 360 versions of either game on disc, you can just slide them into your Xbox One and call it an afternoon. If not, you can purchase Vanquish for £14.99 on the Xbox Store, and pick up Guardian of Light for £9.99. Brave will set you back £8.99.
