Scavengers Studio, the developers behind the upcoming battle royale game, Darwin Project, have announced another open beta. The second beta will kick off later this week. The new version of the game will offer Private Matches and Spectator Interactions on Twitch.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has lead a veritable pack of large and small developers to come up with their own battle royale games. Scavengers Studio have announced their take on the popular genre during Microsoft's E3 2017 press conference.

Scavengers Studio's Darwin Project will take place in a mandatory post-apocalyptic environment set in, Canada? As the people of the world prepare for an upcoming ice age, they come up with a "project" of sorts. The project is 50 per cent a science experiment and 50 per cent entertainment.

Titled Darwin Project, it challenges its participants to survive the cold and fight to the death in an arena. According to Scavengers Studio, the game offers a competitive multiplayer third-person experience with an emphasis on survival. There's also a strong emphasis on crafting and setting traps.

On top of all that, Darwin Project will require players to track their opponents and even negotiate temporary alliances to be the last one standing when the sun goes up. The game has already had one open beta, and another one is coming up on 23 February 2018.

The previous open beta test took place in January, and north of 80.000 people joined in. Everyone who decides to go try Darwin Project during its February open beta can look forward to trying out Spectator Interactions on Twitch, which were previously only available on Mixer.

This new version of the game also allows players to host Private Matches in order to settle any grudges. There are many new features in there as well. The open beta will kick off on 23 February 2018 at 8:00 PM GMT, and end on 26 February 2018 at 5:00 PM GMT.

The devs would also like to invite you to a quick server stress test that will take place on 20 February 2018 from 7:00 PM GMT until 9:00 PM GMT. Please note that streaming and recording is not allowed during this stress test, but encouraged during the Open Beta.

Darwin Project is slated to launch on Xbox One and PC in Spring 2018.
