Rainbow Six Siege - Free weekend

Ubisoft is holding another free weekend for Rainbow Six Siege. The free weekend will start on 15 February 2018 and end on different days depending on your preferred platform. Owners of Rainbow Six Siege will soon start getting the game's third year of content updates.

UPDATE: The free weekend kicks off today. You'll be given access to the full game, including all of the maps, modes and operators. Rainbow Six Siege will be "up to 30 percent off" until 05 March 2018 for PlayStation 4 and 06 March for PlayStation 4 and PC.

ORIGINAL: Ubisoft announced a new free weekend for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege. The free weekend is scheduled to start on Thursday, 15 February 2018.

These kinds of events usually start and end at the same time for players on all platforms, but in this particular instance, PlayStation 4 owners have been given seniority.

PC players can participate via Steam or Uplay and, for them, the event will end on 18 February 2018. The free weekend for Xbox One will go on until 19 February, and PlayStation players will have until 20 February 2018. Do PlayStation 4 owners get less work days than us, normal people? All participants, no matter their preferred platform will be granted access to every map, every game mode and Operator that has been released so far. Multipass. All progress you happen to make during the free weekend event will carry over into the purchased copy, should you choose to get one.

Owners of Rainbow Six Siege will soon start getting the game's third year of content updates. Season One of Year 3 is titled Operation Chimera and adds the new time-limited zombies-and-aliens-themed co-op mode, Outbreak.

Operation Chimera and Outbreak will release on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 on 06 March. However, PC players will be able to give Operation Chimera a go starting 19 February. The Outbreak mode will be available on 20 February 2018. PC players will get access to both via Rainbow Six Siege's technical test servers.

A total of 11 Operators will be playable in Outbreak. "We made a selection of Operators who are the most adapted and relevant for this specific game mode, from a design standpoint," Ubisoft wrote.

The new mode will have three exclusive maps, which will be larger, more open, and more linear than the competitive maps. This is due to the fact they're designed specifically for co-op play. They will retain the game's "trademark destruction elements".
