According to a tweet by an industry insider, Activision might be working on a new Call of Duty game. The rumors say that the upcoming title will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The new game could end up being a modern, boots on the ground type of a COD title.
Call of Duty: WWII has only been out a couple of months but Activision is not one to dwell on one COD for long. Game industry secret leaker, Marcus Sellars, tweeted that the upcoming Call of Duty title is going to be Black Ops 4.
According to Mr "Right 50 percent of the time" Sellars, the upcoming title will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox and Switch. The Switch port will be entrusted to "a company which is familiar with COD games". Raven Software comes to mind as a viable candidate, as they were the ones responsible for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.
COD 2018 is Black Ops 4 and is coming to PS4/Xbox/PC/Switch. It is set in the modern times and is boots on the ground. The Switch version will support DLC, HD Rumble and motion controls. The Switch version is also being ported by a company which is familar with COD games.— Marcus Sellars (@Marcus_Sellars) February 4, 2018
A new Call of Duty game gets officially revealed sometime in early March, so we won't have to wait much longer to find out if Mr Sellars is still a trusted source of information.
In other Call of Duty news, the latest title in the franchise recently got its first DLC. Along with the DLC came the Resistance community event, that's going to run until 27 February. It's a five week long event that features new gear, game modes and Supply Drop content.
