RimWorld an indie construction and management sim recently surpassed the "one million copies sold" milestone. The game's developer wrote a blog post thanking everyone attached to the project. RimWorld is currently in Steam's Early Access.

RimWorld, a top-down construction and management simulation game, has reached the one million copies sold milestone recently. The game's developer, Tynan Sylvester wrote: "This is a remarkably unexpected moment for me. The original Kickstarter only sought 1,000 sales, and that seemed like a lot. This is… crazy."

He went on to thank, well, everyone: "Many thanks to all the players for buying the game, to Piotr Walczak, Ben Rog-Wilhelm and all others who worked on it, to modders for making a huge variety of mods that are intricate, scary, useful, and amusing. Also to everyone who ever made a video about RimWorld, or streamed it, or just told a friend about it. And to those making comics and art interpretations, to those moderating forums and chat channels, and everyone else bringing life into the community. I can’t thank you enough."

The game's kickstarter campaign launched on 02 October 2013, and one month later successfully surpassed its goal with a total of £153.094 pledged by 9,498 backers. The game has been in Steam's Early Access since 16 July, 2016.

RimWorld puts you into the role of a passenger who survived his ship's crash-landing onto a foreign planet. You can end up with a nobleman, an accountant, and a housewife. You’ll acquire more colonists by capturing them in combat and turning them to your side, buying them from slave traders, or taking in refugees.

The game's story is controlled by one of three AI Storytellers. There are several storytellers to choose from. Randy Random does crazy stuff, Cassandra Classic goes for rising tension, and Phoebe Chillax likes to relax.
