Metal Gear Survive is currently having a free beta. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will get to play in two co-op maps. The participants will receive some in-game bonus items when Metal Gear Survive launches in February.
Metal Gear Survive's beta is now available for download on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Starting on 18 going and up until 21 January, those who engage in this beta business will be able to try out the features offered by the game's co-op mode. New missions and live events included.
The Metal Gear Survive beta boasts two maps with three missions that do the best job showcasing the game's co-op mode. The obligatory in-game bonus items that will be given out to the beta participants once Metal Gear Survive fully launches include:
- One fox hound name plate
- One Metal Gear Rex head accessory
- One bandana accessory
The events in Metal Gear Survive pick up where Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes left off. Everyone is minding their own business, but then a worm hole opens up and sends a group of soldiers into a "hostile world where they look for answers while trying to survive in the harsh environment". You know, the in-your-face inciting incident.
Once in this new world, you'll have to Conan Exiles it up by securing food, water and shelter. You'll have to do all this while fighting off zombies that have had their heads replaced with red glowing crystals.
In case you missed the riveting video that showcases the game's single player campaign, you can catch up here. Metal Gear Survive will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam), on 20 February in both Americas, and on 22 February for the rest of the world. Provided the beta goes smoothly and there are no hiccups along the way. Those come after launch.
