Dragon Ball FighterZ is the upcoming, highly anticipated Arc System Works fighting game due for release on 26 January. New bits of info are popping up each day, so here is a small compendium on all things FighterZ.

Dragon Ball FighterZ has already announced the new Open Beta event, coming to consoles on 14 January at 8:00 AM GMT. Those who have pre-ordered a digital copy of the game or a physical copy of FighterZ Collection Edition will be able to get into the beta one day early.

Latest in the string of new character announcements is Goku Black, following Beerus and Hit reveals. Full roster for the beta event consists of :

  • Goku
  • Vegeta
  • Adult Gohan
  • Frieza
  • Kid Buu
  • Cell
  • Picolo
  • Krillin
  • Nappa
  • Android 18
  • Beerus

Remaining confirmed characters for the game so far can be found on the Dragon Ball wiki. As far as the roster goes, the kicker is certainly day 1 DLC, without which you will have no access to eight different fighters. If you want to get your hands on them you will need to shell out additional £25 on top of the £50 base game price. This means that essentially a full third of your total value is ripped out of the game because money.

The game will feature 3v3 tag team brawls along with its own ranked online play, interactive lobbies, six player party matches and a story mode with a character new to the franchise, named Android 21. She is set to be an extremely smart villain with intelligence rivalling that of Dr. Gero.

The game is 2.5D , meaning the game is played on a 2D background but the characters are rendered in 3D. It is packed with high octane anime fighting action which may be the reason of the somewhat high system requirements for a 2.5D fighting game with cartoonish graphics. The system requirements for PC are:

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 7/8/10, 64-bit required
  • CPU: AMD FX-4359 @4.2GHz or Intel Core i5-3470 @3.2GHz
  • RAM: 4 GB
  • GPU: Radeon HD 6870 1GB or GeForce GTX 650Ti 1GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound: DirectX-compatible sound card or onboard chipset

  • GPU: Radeon HD 7870 2GB or GeForce GTX 660 2GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
