CCP Games is bouncing back with a promise of a ‘new and ambitious’ MMO. The Eve Online developer is currently building a team in London. The new team will lead development on their upcoming MMORPG.

After ending the development of their VR projects, laying off almost 100 people, and closing two of its four offices, CCP Games is turning over a new leaf. That leaf happens to be a job listing looking for fresh blood to work on their "new and highly ambitious MMORPG".

"CCP is currently building a team in London to lead development on a new and highly ambitious MMORPG. We are looking to grow a relatively small, tight-knit team, capable of delivering big ideas through experience, smart process, and world-class tools" says the job listing for a Lead Designer.

Their ideal candidate has a "demonstrable track-record of leading design teams on multiple high-profile titles, and ideally experience of RPG gameplay and systems design development."

All serious applicants should have lead designer or design director credits on at least one "high-profile MMO, RPG, or other systems-heavy game," as well as "fantastic games knowledge (both classic and contemporary), especially in MMORPGs".

On top of everything, experience with the UE4 engine and blueprints is a real plus.

If you don't meet the criteria for a Lead Designer, there are some other openings in the London studio. All job listings are presumably tied to the same project and include: art director, engineer, senior 3D artist, senior animator, senior backend engineer, senior character artist, senior UI artist, and UX designer.

The announcement follows Eve Online's recent transition to a hybrid free-to-play model. The transition has greatly expanded the range of ships available to its rank-and-file free players.
