THQ Nordic revealed another bit of gameplay for their upcoming Darksiders 3 release, due in 2018. This was a refreshing sign of life since the last we've seen was in May, more than half a year ago.
For those not familiar with Darksiders games it is a hack & slash series, akin to Devil May Cry. The universe is set in the aftermath of a premature Apocalypse on Earth, accidentally caused by War, one of the Riders of the Apocalypse amidst the raging war between Heaven and Hell. Granted, in Darksiders universe there is no Pestilence and Famine and instead it is Fury and Strife. In each game you control a different Horseman of Apocalypse. In the first game it was War, the protagonist of Darksiders 2 was Death and in Darksiders 3 we get a Horsewoman - Fury.
The new gameplay shows off more of her graceful ways to navigate post-apocalyptic Earth landscape using both her acrobatics and her whip weapon. She is tasked by the universe's government, also known as Charred Council, to seek out the Seven Deadly Sins who have overrun the Earth in order to bring them down and restore balance to the universe.
As stated on the Darksiders' website, this will also serve to prove she is the most powerful of the four Horsemen. Whether you want to chalk it up to the fact she's the only female rider or that she's both a mage and warrior, one thing seems certain - the already promising roster of upcoming games for 2018 got richer with this hack and slash adventure.
The game will be whipping on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Whop-eesh!
