Warhammer: The End Times - Vermintide's soundtrack by Jesper Kyd will be released on 26 September. The album has 36-tracks and includes everything from the core game's original soundtrack, to new music from the DLC expansions. A sequel to the game will be revealed in October.
Sumthing Else Music Works just announced that Jesper Kyd's soundtrack for Warhammer: The End Times - Vermintide will be released via digital and streaming outlets on 26 September.
"It's a dynamic, raw and violent score that belongs to Vermintide's dark medieval setting" said Jesper Kyd, a BAFTA award-winning Danish composer. "We wanted the score to sound like it was performed by a Skaven band on acoustic instruments mangled by some mad Skaven scientist in the dark ages. It's very different from anything I have written in the past."
The 36-track album compiled by Kyd includes everything from the core game's original soundtrack, to new music from the DLC expansions as well as instrumental songs heard in the game's local tavern, Red Moon Inn.
Kyd mixed the score's tracks with more traditional folk music, performed by a three-piece band in an old English-style pub, the Red Moon Inn. This was done in order to "give contrast to the intense combat experience and Skaven music, and to further define the historical period of Vermintide's world" says the press release.
Warhammer: The End Times - Vermintide is a co-op first person shooter and melee combat adventure set in the End Times of the iconic Warhammer fantasy universe. The game was developed by an independent games studio Fatshark in Sweden. Warhammer: The End Times - Vermintide will be getting a sequel that will be revealed during a Twitch stream on 17 October at 6:00 pm BST.
Jesper Kyd has worked on many different video games, television, and film projects. The man has composed soundtracks for the Hitman series, Assassin's Creed franchise, Borderlands games, Darksiders II and State of Decay, to name a few. Kyd's scores make use of orchestra, choir, and acoustic manipulations as well as electronic soundscapes.
