The alternate history World War I RTS project Iron Harvest by King Art Games now has a pre-alpha trailer ready for your eyeballs, and it's looks like the game is off to a promising start. Steampunk mechs and trench warfare, yes please!
Sometimes all it takes to get the ball rolling on a video game project is some brilliant concept art. It would appear that this is what happened between Polish artist Jakub Rozalski and German developer King Art Games.
The studio has slowly been posting work in progress footage of their latest project titled Iron Harvest over on their Facebook page, and now there is a pre-alpha trailer available for your enjoyment.
Iron Harvest seems to be shaping up into an alternate history World War I real-time strategy game, but details are scarce at this very early stage of development. The team is currently still producing assets for the game, and according to various updates over the past months a working physics and squad AI system similar to that of Company of Heroes is being implemented.
Real-time strategy is usually entrenched deeply in PC gaming territory, but the studio seems to be showing a lot of interest in bringing the game to consoles as well.
There is no word yet on a release date, and if parts of the survey the studio has been conducting are anything to go by the studio might resort to crowdfunding as a means of financing further development.
We will reach out to the studio for more info and keep you updated if any news surrounding the project comes our way.
