The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel by Xseed Games will soon be available for PC as well. The game has previously been out for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Trails of Cold Steel's PC version will be out in August 2017.
Xseed Games announced today that their The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel is headed to PC. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel represents the start of a new story arc in developer Nihon Falcom’s series of role-playing games.
Western audiences are not totally unfamiliar with the game as it was originally released in North America back in 2015 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel will make its debut on the PC with visual enhancements and over 5,000 new lines of English voiceover dialogue.
The game "builds on Nihon Falcom’s beloved Trails franchise, improving on the series’ formula while delivering an expertly told, standalone narrative that both series fans and newcomers alike will enjoy". Trails of Cold Steel takes place on the same continent as Trails in the Sky, and further explores Erebonia while giving its players a chance to delve deep into the inner political conflicts of this "oft-mentioned and powerful" empire.
Players will take on the role of elite military students "at a time of great turmoil, who enjoy school life as they bond with fellow students to earn new abilities in battle, and then utilize those abilities via tactical turn-based combat". All party members will be upgradable using the "ARCUS" system. Those familiar with previous titles from this series know this new system as "Orbment". Arcus is a more "streamlined version of the classic" that allows for greater access to abilities and quicker customization.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel will launch 02 August, 2017 via Steam, gog.com, and the Humble Store by Humble Bundle with a launch week discount of 10% off the regular price of £29.99.
