Telltale Games just released a video on their official YouTube channel detailing the road ahead. There's a new season of Batman coming in August. The final season of The Walking Dead and a new one for The Wolf Among Us launch next year.
So Christmas came early for the fans of Telltale games. A "direct style" video shared on Telltale's You Tube channel detailed everything the company is up to, all the way into 2018.
You can check the video out right above this article, and I am now going to go into details from the press releases, one game at a time.
We'll start with Batman. A new five-part, episodic game series that continues Telltale's take on the Caped Crusader is named Batman: The Enemy Within - The Telltale Series. Now for the good part: episode one, The Enigma will be available for download starting 08 August, 2017 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and Mac. The episode will become available on iOS and Android-based devices later this year.
The series will also be available at retailers this October for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on a special Season Pass Disc which will include the first episode of the season, as well as download access to all subsequent episodes as they are released through an online connection.
The new story will have both Bruce Wayne and Batman forced into "precarious new roles". The Riddler is back with his "gruesome puzzles" that "merely foreshadow an even greater crisis". There's also a "ruthless federal agent" and John Doe. Thigs seem like they're about to become pretty difficult for Batman, but Bruce doesn't have it any easier as he "undertakes a perilous series of deceptions".
If you've played the first season of Batman: The Telltale Series, you'll have the option to carry over your choices into The Enemy Within. This season will have the Crowd Play feature.
We now move into "next year" territory. First up, The Walking Dead: The Final Season, don't worry, it's a working title.
While discussing the character's path all the way through 2017's conclusion of The Walking Dead: A New Frontier (watch the video for that), Telltale confirmed that this fourth and final season would focus on Clementine in the lead role, allowing players to fully step back into the shoes of the character.
The Final Season will debut in 2018 on consoles, PC, Mac, iOS and Android-based devices. Additional platforms are yet to be announced.
Lastly: all of you who tweeted at Telltale every day asking for a new season of The Wolf Among Us, your efforts have not been in vain. Second season of the episodic adventure game based on Bill Willingham's award-winning comic book series 'Fables' is now in development.
The new season doesn't have an official name, but we do know that it will debut in the second half of 2018 across all major gaming consoles and mobile gaming devices. This new season will begin a fresh story arc for its returning cast of characters, featuring the return of Adam Harrington as Bigby Wolf and Erin Yvette as Snow White.
