Tale of Ronin is an RPG which focuses on the human side of the famed warriors
Dead Mage, an independent game development studio, is working on an RPG game about the Ronin. These "wandering men" were the samurai who lost their master in feudal Japan. Instead of honouring the Code of the Samurai, and committing a ritualistic suicide, they chose to live as Ronin.
The official description reads: "Our extreme interest in the Samurai culture and RPG games with great player freedom led us to this game. Our aim is to focus on the unique human aspects of the fierce warriors which has not been portrayed very much in other games or media."
Tale of Ronin will feature a dynamic world to explore and battle in, using a "simultaneous turn-based combat system". Sumi-e art style offers a different, somewhat "inky" feel to the game, making every frame look like a painting.
The addition of the "Sekai System" means that each time a character dies, he is replaced by a new Ronin, and then has to " survive the consequences" of the choices his predecessor made.
Tale of Ronin still has no release date, but will launch for "PC and consoles".
