Perception is under development by some of the people who made BioShock and Dead Space
Bill Gardner, who previously worked for Irrational Games and developed some of the levels in the first BioShock, has set up a new studio named The Deep End Games, in order to develop Perception.
Perception is a narrative horror adventure that tells the story of Cassie - a young blind woman haunted by visions of a mysterious mansion. Cassie has the ability to echolocate which is then visualy represented in the game. Each tap of Cassie's sonar-like method of perception and orientation, reveals a bit of the player's surroundings, but also attracts whatever might be lurking in the dark.
The fact that the player is as blind as Cassie, and the only way to get an idea of the right way to go may be fatal, makes the entire experience seem claustrophobic and unsettling.
Innitially announced for Mac and PC, the game is now also coming for PlayStation 4.
