A renowned Super Nintendo exclusive, now on PS4 under the name of Wild Guns: Reloaded
Wild Guns - previously a Super Nintendo exclusive, has found its way to PlayStation 4 today. Successfully using the classic formula of arcade arena shooters, Wild Guns is a co-op shooter with very responsive controls, captivating old-school visuals and is an overall blast of an experience.
The gameplay is as classic as it gets. Character movements are limited to left and right, with jumping being one of the crucial moves of the game, because it is the only means of dodging enemy fire. An onscreen red cursor, which serves as crosshairs, helps you take down foes with precision.
An interesting thing about Wild Guns is that, at the time, it was famous for its destructible environments. Destruction would reward the players with hidden power-ups. True challenge awaited at the end of every stage though, as you had to face gigantic bosses, which was an experience that really made your reflexes twitch like there's no tomorrow.
The PS4 version of the game, called Wild Guns: Reloaded, will feature two new characters with unique weapons and tactics, as well as a four-player mode, which was absent in the original game. Furthermore, new stages, new enemies and weapons, online rankings are all added to this boiling pot of fiery destruction.
In today's gaming world, dominated by narrative-driven titles, Wild Guns: Reloaded serves as a prime reminder of the good old days where games used to be all about mindless hours of fun.
