Shattered - Tale of the Forgotten King close to hitting its first major crowdfunding target
With about 24 hours left on its Kickstarter campaign, Shattered - Tale of the Forgotten King looks like it might reach its first stretch goal as well. The game itself is a 2D/3D platformer-action-adventure title, with quite a dark and unique art style and theme. The developer's Kickstarter video says the game is about "getting lost; in time, in space and in stories".
There are some clear Dark Souls and Journey influences on display. The developers also mentioned Soul Reaver as one of the major inspirations for the game, which is a title we don't see mentioned enough in recent years. Redlock Studio is a French group of artists and the developers, and they say that the ideas that the game is built around have been maturing for the better part of a decade now.
As of now, PC seems to be the only platform the game will be able to reach. PlayStation4 and/or xBox One ports are included as stretch goals at the €220,000 mark, which seems a little unlikely at this point, barring a miracle of serious magnitude.
