Street Fighter V: Gill debuts as Seth is announced
Street Fighter V's December update kicked off with Gill joining the roster but also the news about the 40th fighter. Another returning character, Seth who was a boss in Street Fighter IV, is making a re-entry but with a highly altered appearance.

Capcom announced Street Fighter V: Champion Edition for PC and PlayStation 4. It will be the definitive collection of the content released thus far and will feature Gill who is making his return after Street Fighter III.

Valve have posted a public apology for the early leaking of the Street Fighter V trailer, which ended up showing the new characters ahead of time. With everyone knowing they're E. Honda, Poison and Lucia, Valve said it won't happen again.
Street Fighter V is going free to play for a limited time
Capcom have announced that Street Fighter V is going free to play for a limited time. Starting on 23 April 2019, the game will be available to everyone who wishes to play it. The promo offer will run for two weeks before ending on 05 May.

Capcom have added adverts to Street Fighter V once again, following their removal after a public outcry the first time around. Thankfully, the ads are no longer stuck on characters at least but they are in a AAA game with season passes.

Capcom folks have announced that Street Fighter V will not have a season pass in 2019 which hints at a monetisation model change or focus on a Street Fighter sequel being in the works. They did mention there will be DLC characters though.
