The top per cent best sellers on Steam earned half the Steam's revenue in 2017
SteamSpy has revealed the top 20 best earners on Steam for 2017. According to the service, they almost earned as much money as the rest of 21000 games on Steam. While not 100 per cent correct, these numbers are the best estimate up to date.

Steam saw its most profitable year yet in 2017, according to Sergey Galyonkin, the creator of SteamSpy. He claims that this is in large due to PUBG's massive burst in popularity which contributed to 21 per cent increase in new users.

Several reports have come up blaming voice and text chat service Discord for some huge FPS drops in games, although at the moment, it doesn't seem to be affecting all the games, but rather just a select few.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds made more money than Overwatch in 2017
According to a year in review report published by SuperData, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds generated $712 million in revenue in 2017. The battle royale game managed to earn almost as much money as Overwatch and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive did combined.

Is CS:GO getting a Battle Royale mode?
Valve News Network has posted a video claiming the stage is set for Counter Strike: Global Offensive to get a Battle Royale mode, similar to the one you have in PUBG and Fortnite. Apparently, traces of this mode have been found in the game’s updates dating back to as far as May 31st 2016, although we wouldn’t get overly excited since this is not the first time a dormant CS:GO mode has stayed dormant.

UK Gambling Commission's annual report for 2017 has a new section devoted to gambling with in-game items. The section brought attention to the problem of skin gambling among young people. Of the 11 percent of 11-16 year olds who had ever bet with in-game items, more than a third (36 percent) had done so in the past seven days.
