Black Lab Games released two packs of DLC that add exciting new units to both of the existing factions, offering new ways to enjoy the gory conflict.
Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is a fantastic entry for the franchise, after a long line of mediocre or bad games. It offered a proper refreshment and another opportunity for the fans to celebrate something that is fairly reminiscent of the glory days of Dawn of War as well as the first sequel.
One thing that players wished for was more variations in the choice of factions and Black Lab folks are partially obliging the requests with a total of four new units that were released simultaneously in two separate DLC packs.
Blood Angels Elites brings forth some of the finest warriors in Sanguinius' gene-descendants as Terminators and Sanguinary Guard jump into the fray. Yes, they both feature ways to traverse the battlefield quickly, with the former excelling against heavy units while the Guard can be highly effective against pretty much everything Tyranids can throw your way.
Meanwhile, the Tyranid Elites DLC grants access to Broodlords, heavy units who are powerful in melee combat and can pretty much nerf anything they attack. Hive Guard, meanwhile, prefers ranged attacks and can use ammo that reduces the effectiveness of any cover your Space Marines might be hiding behind.
Each of these two packs costs $1.99 / €1.59 / £1.69, which frankly seems like a fair price and proof the devs aren't price-gouging the players. Keep in mind that having Blood Angels Elites can make your campaign vastly different and easier but you can opt out of DLC units at the start if you want the vanilla experience.
