Bethesda have announced that Starfield will be officially launching on September 6, 2023.
Starfield has a release date. This long-awaited sci-fi RPG is officially coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S on September 6, 2023, Bethesda announced in a new trailer. A Starfield showcase, where the devs plan to reveal new gameplay and exciting details has also been confirmed for June 11, 2023.
The release date does come a bit later than expected given that Microsoft were pretty adamant at their last year's showcase that they will be only revealing games that are coming in the next 12 months. But, as you probably know, game development is not that simple and hurdles always come, resulting in delays.
Bethesda head Todd Howard appeared in the video to thank the fans for being patient and so excited about the game. He once again reiterated how large Starfield actually is, mentioning that even the development team are constantly in awe of the game's scope.
Starfield indeed is one of the most anticipated games of the decade and certainly one of the biggest Xbox exclusive games of all time. Given that Xbox really need this one to be perfect, it's no wonder why they're giving Bethesda more time to polish and optimise this sci-fi experience.
We don't mind it, since we have been waiting for many, many years to play Bethesda's new title and waiting a couple of more months is not that bad.
Starfield is confirmed to be launching only on PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game will also be on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
