After speaking quite positively of Tyler 'Ninja' Blevins' move to Mixer, in terms of finally putting a dollar sign above the heads of streamers, prominent streamer Imane 'Pokimane' Anys signed a multi-year deal with Twitch.
We must admit though, almost every single video that was made with streamers switching to Mixer or sticking with Twitch has been quite funny, and this one is no different. It even plays on the earlier ones, almost suggesting she's leaving.
That she is not though, as Pokimane will stay with Twitch in an "multi-year" but otherwise undisclosed deal between the two.
Currently boasting dangerously close to 4 million followers on the platform, Pokimane said that Twitch has given her an opportunity to create and connect with people around the world, for which she remains grateful.
"The community of streamers on Twitch, as well as the community I've built around my channel, both mean so much to me. I want to continue to make a lasting impact on the world of live streaming, and I truly believe there’s no other place that has the infrastructure and tools that will allow me to do so", she said.
Although the US and EU are well behind Asia when it comes to permanent deals with streamers, things are rapidly catching up, with Ninja being the highest-profile switch thus far. Pokimane earlier commented how his move is beneficial for all the streamers, as they were going to do what they do anyway, so platforms treating them to more income is certainly a plus.
Ninja's move from Twitch to Mixer was quite the business move for everyone involved it seems, with $20-30 million being thrown around as the sum Microsoft shelled out. Ninja's move to Mixer was soon followed by Shroud, but Twitch have secured a few deals of their own, with DrLupo, TimTheTatman and now Pokimane.
