Firaxis' tactical superhero mashup seems to have hit a snag in development and it will not be released as previous announced.
Take-Two Interactive had its earnings report recently and besides the reveal of the $53 million cancellation, they provided some other interesting info. Unfortunately, this is not going to put smiles on any of the fans' faces since Marvel's Midnight Suns release date has been moved to the second half of 2022.
That said, it's probably for the best since pretty much everyone is tired of games releasing half-baked, which results in severely diminished experience for the players.
Furthermore, the original release window was March 2022, meaning the delay might end up being just a few of months and we are bound to see much more about the Midnight Suns on the upcoming gaming conventions, both digital and physical.
It didn't take long after the earnings report for the official Midnight Suns Twitter to respond and confirm the announcement. They posted a letter for fans with the usual statement about the devs needing more time to release the best game possible.
Hoping for a game of that calibre might be a bit naive but it's hard to blame the devs for the choice of words in the letter. All we are suggesting is that you temper your expectations and don't hope for a game that will be equivalent to the second coming.
Still, knowing Firaxis' previous titles, it might get really close.
