Here's everything that will be coming to Funcom's strategy Dune: Spice Wars in the near future.
Funcom have today shared the official content roadmap for Dune: Spice Wars, which recently launched into Steam Early Access. The new content will slowly start to roll out sometime this Summer.
The roadmap promises several major additions such as multiplayer, a new faction, and hero units. Funcom also promise improvements across the board with every update.
The multiplayer will feature co-op and free-for-all player versus player modes. Funcom confirmed that up to four players can play at the same time.
The current priority for Funcom and Shiro is to make multiplayer as polished and fun as possible but after that, several major features are planned, including an unannounced new faction, new iconic characters and councillors as controllable hero units. The Air and Sand Update will dig deeper into the warfare, introducing new units and tactical elements to the mix.
Sadly, there are no specific release dates for these upcoming updates but the press release mentions that most of these new features will be launching over the next three to six months.
Dune: Spice Wars is available now on PC via Steam Early Access. The full release of the game is expected sometime in 2023. Shiro Games estimate that nine to twelve months of development will be necessary to reach all milestones and implement planned content.
