Square Enix announced that the closed beta for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will take place sometime this summer. Registrations are now open. Those picked to participate will receive an e-mail with instructions.

Square Enix was at the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) in Las Vegas and they took the opportunity to announce that registration for the Dissidia Final Fantasy NT Closed Beta is now open to select PlayStation 4 owners.

If you want to, you can sign up for a chance to participate in the closed beta right here. The chosen ones will be contacted via an e-mail. The e-mail will contain the registration code and more information on how to opt into the Closed Beta.

"This summer, the Closed Beta will let fighting game fans get hands-on with the team-based brawler as they play the roles of legendary heroes and villains from the FINAL FANTASY franchise, take part in epic 3 vs. 3 battles across iconic arenas and invoke the help of classic summons including Ifrit, Shiva and Odin". Says the press release.

There will be four different character types on offer: Vanguard, Specialist, Marksman, and Assassin.

Each type has different stats, so the Vanguard will be slower than an Assassin but have more wide-ranged attacks that deal more significant damage. Assassins will in turn be able to jump twice while airborne.

Marksmen will, you guessed it, be good at long range attacks, but they will be useless at close quarter combat. Specialists will hang around, using their "unique" skills to enhance their party members.

Battle sets will determine your abilities in battle: one HP attack and two EX skills. You'll be able to see your opponent's battle sets once you're paired up.

You can pre-order Dissidia Final Fantasy NT right here. More information can be found on the game's webpage.
