Ubisoft partnered up with ESL to bring us the Hero Series tournament. Registrations are open right now. The top players will go to Burbank, CA to compete for around £7.750 in cash prizes.
For Honor Hero Series is an international tournament program organised in partnership with ESL. The tournament will be taking place this summer, starting 08 July, across all platforms in Europe and the United States.
After the weekly competitions come to an end, the top 16 players will participate in a live event on 12 August in Burbank, California, where they will play for around £7.750 in cash prizes. This will be the first For Honor Hero Series event and its aim is to "take the game’s competitive landscape to a new level".
There is an open invitation for players to join the weekly 1v1 Duel tournaments across the three available platforms over four weeks. The weekly tournaments kick off on 08 July. Registered players will earn points based on their rankings following each tournament.
From there, top players from across all platforms will be selected "based on overall tournament standings and invited to battle in a Live Finals event where platform champions will be crowned in Burbank, CA" says the press release.
"At ESL we are committed to growing the esports landscape and For Honor’s competitive ecosystem has been something we've all been looking forward to,” said Sean Charles, VP of Publisher and Developer Relations, ESL. “With the For Honor Hero Series and the addition of ranked mode, there is a lot in store for future For Honor players."
All those interested in a shoutcasting gig at the Live Finals event in Burbank can submit their audition tapes right here. By tapes I mean "YouTube links of your For Honor game commentary".
A Ranked Mode for the game will be released in a future update. The new mode will allow the game's competitive play to continue. It will initially offer "on-demand tournaments for Duel. In future updates, the ranking system will expand to Brawl as well as 4v4 game modes".
The second Public Test for Duel Tournament will soon be available to all interested in catching a sneak peek at the action.
