Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King was funded on Kickstarter in December last year. Redlock Studio is now expanding the game's setting to encompass an additional mobile game called Driim. The idea is to secure more resources that can help improve the main project.
Shattered: Tale of the Forgotten King did well for itself on Kickstarter late last year, managing to secure the requested funding with a decent bit on top. Redlock Studio has now posted a Q&A video taking in backer feedback and showing off some of the progress the team has made in the past 6 months.
In addition to the video, the studio has announced that they will be making a mobile game called Driim. The free to play vertical runner title will be set in the same universe as Shattered, and is supposed to support the main project in more ways than one.
"As we said a few times before, we're still trying to complete our development budget for Shattered. For the moment, we haven't signed anything and even if the situation is quite promising (we'll tell you everything at the very moment things get serious and official), we decided to do everything we could to get new resources for the sake of Shattered. This is how we came up with the idea of extending our Hypnos universe to a mobile game... And there was Driim", reads the statement from Redlock.
Game developers making games in order to be able to make better games? Makes a lot of sense. At this point, Driim is only known to be available soon.
