Ranum doesn't remember a time before Raids, or PvP. He does remember the time after he's beaten the rest of us, and this is the time that makes him happy. He grew up on a farm in the ancient kingdom of Basante, and retains the merciless attitude of the peasant to weakness.
The guides he produces are rare things, crafted with the care of a Fabergé egg. We regard them as being just as valuable, as least when he's in ear shot.
